A chat list row whose newest message is a picture or a video shows that picture's thumbnail in place of the generic glyph (#34, bmt's feature request for a thumbnail of the last picture in the chat list row instead of the icon).

The chat list's preview is the media glyph and a word again, never a thumbnail (the user, 2026-10-25: "because of image preview in chat list, there are inconsistent height. please use just '<picture symbol> Picture' in chat list as a preview"), undoing #34's thumbnail so every row keeps one height. chat-list.ts draws the kind's glyph alone and previewParts gives a caption-less file its word after it: "Picture" for a picture, "Video" for a clip, "Video message" for a circle, "Voice message" for a note, a file its name as before; a sticker is its word as a reply's quote says it (its emoji, else "Sticker") with no glyph; a caption still follows the glyph. chat-list-thumb.ts, its .thumb style, Store.keptThumb and Attachments.keptThumb, which only the list used, are gone with chat-list-thumb.test.ts; the words are already in all seven catalogues. CHANGELOG keeps #34 as a Changed line. Tested: a new chat-list-media test checks no <img> in the preview and the glyph with Picture, Me: Picture, a caption, Video, Video message, Voice message, Sticker and a file's name; chat-actions and quote-forward expect the words; the smoke screen "saved messages picture" also asserts the Saved messages row reads "Me: Picture" under the image glyph with no image, and that every chat list row is one height. make check STRICT=1 clean; make test-ui 197 files passed, 1 skipped, 2698 tests passed, 8 skipped; make build-mock; smoke chat list, saved messages picture, media bubbles, upload bubble, album, album phone, room, phone and list header 104 ok, 0 FAIL.

Closing as won't fix. A picture thumbnail in place of the icon was built (be59b558) and then reverted (c99fd694): rows with and without a thumbnail ended up at uneven heights in the chat list, and a steady, scannable list matters more here. The last message's kind still shows as a short label and icon.
