The 1.1 line; 1.1.11 is its latest release. The API is stable; hosts regenerate their bindings from
schema/tacky.schema.json. Test results for each version are in its tag message.1.1.11 — 2026-10-28
- Telegram secret chats started from our side no longer end at the peer's first message (Telegram for iOS and macOS announce an old layer first).
1.1.10 — 2026-10-27
- Disappearing messages follow "Preserve complete history": with it on (the default) an expired message is retracted and its history kept; off, it is deleted.
- A timer another party sets is honoured as set and carried on our sends; a timer inside an OMEMO envelope is read in rooms and archives too.
- Security: the delta audit's fixes, incl. a redirected auto-download held to the public internet.
1.1.9 — 2026-10-27
- Disappearing messages (XEP-0466), spam reports (XEP-0377), server archive preferences (XEP-0441).
- Custom emoji (XEP-0514) not supported. Security: the final audit's fixes, RustSec updates.
1.1.8 — 2026-10-27
- The bound JID per session; clients list; quick responses (XEP-0439).
1.1.7 — 2026-10-27
- Profiles over XEP-0292 + XEP-0054; one status per person.
1.1.6 — 2026-10-27
- Link previews (XEP-0511), offline mode, stricter auto-download. Security: audit fixes.
1.1.5 — 2026-10-27
- Read points shared with other clients (XEP-0490). Security: audit fixes.
1.1.4 — 2026-10-26
- Silent and scheduled messages; albums, captions, polls, contact cards, live locations.
1.1.3 — 2026-10-26
- Telegram secret chats through a gateway; messages never deleted (
preserve_history); XEP-0077 gateway registration.
1.1.2 / 1.1.1 — 2026-10-25 / 10-23
- Calls on Windows; sticker fixes; one OMEMO 0.3 notice per sender.
1.1 — 2026-10-23
- OTR v3 secret chats, direct file transfer, faster catch-up, gateways (XEP-0100), custom protocols under
urn:tacky:*.

libtacky 1.0 Stable
released this
2026-10-21 02:51:02 +00:00 | 376 commits to develop since this releaselibtacky 1.0 · 2026-10-17 → 2026-10-21 · tag v1.0.8
The first stable line: the API is stable from 1.0.0 on. Hosts regenerate their bindings from
schema/tacky.schema.json. Test results for each version are in its tag message.1.0.8 — 2026-10-21
- Stickers: pack sharing, the server's sticker catalogue, creating a pack.
- People directory: a component at
people.<domain>, search by name, phone number or personal code.
1.0.7 — 2026-10-21
- Group calls are sealed with OMEMO like 1:1 calls; a leg whose seal fails is closed, the call goes on.
- Rooms rejoin after a reconnect that couldn't resume the stream.
1.0.6 — 2026-10-21
- Stickers (XEP-0449): packs on the account's PEP node, import, add, send in OMEMO chats too.
1.0.5 — 2026-10-21
- Mentions (XEP-0513 beside XEP-0372),
Message.mentions_me. - A room can be muted with its mentions still notifying.
1.0.4 — 2026-10-20
- Two-tier store:
storage splitinto a call tier and a main tier, so a call can ring while messages stay locked.
1.0.3 — 2026-10-19
- A call to a device the caller can't encrypt to ends at the caller, saying why.
- ICE restart when the media path breaks (opt-in).
- OMEMO key exchanges recognised from their bytes: messages from QXmpp senders no longer lost.
1.0.2 — 2026-10-18
- An OMEMO send waiting for keys no longer makes every connect re-read the archive.
1.0.1 — 2026-10-18
- A device that joins later gets the synced state (mutes, pins, drafts, pinned chats, tags, OMEMO chat lists).
- Chats this device can't read still show in the chat list.
- The browser build can sign in on the provider's page.
- A failed room join says why.
1.0.0 — 2026-10-17
- First stable release (1.0.0-rc10 + small fixes): XMPP client core with OMEMO 0.3 and 2, 1:1 and group calls, MUC, MAM catch-up, encrypted store, Tcl/C/Rust/TypeScript/Swift bindings.
No binaries are attached: libtacky ships inside its hosts.
