    The line that made the app an everyday messenger: voice and round video messages, several accounts, read ticks, a tray icon and proper desktop notifications. Late in the line OMEMO moved onto libtacky's own code and gained OMEMO 2. On libtacky 1.0.0 alphas (alpha7 → alpha11 from 0.3.6 on).

    0.3.8 — 2026-10-10

    • OMEMO 2, private messages in group chats, the new-device question and a much faster catch-up (described on the 0.4 page).
    • The Android app carries the right libtacky again (0.3.7's had an old one by mistake).

    • Signing up works with servers on another port or direct TLS.
    • A chat is marked read only as far as you scrolled, never while hidden or locked.
    • Group encryption info shows who needs attention; a call dropped by the network shows as failed.
    • Corrections, reactions and replies in groups land on the right message.

    • OMEMO runs on libtacky's own code: your contacts see one new device of yours to trust.
    • Saving a file asks where and tells you where it went.
    • A message too big for the server is refused instead of breaking the connection.
