Built on libtacky 1.0.1.
Added
- The web version signs in on the provider's page too, as the desktop and
Android apps do: Continue on the provider opens its page in a small
window, and you come back signed in. If the browser blocks the window, it
says so and offers the password. - Android: another.im is in the Share menu of other apps. Share a link, some
text, a photo, a video or any files, one or many, pick the chat, and it
opens with the files ready to go and the text in the field; nothing is
sent until you send it. Cancel drops the share.
Changed
- Esc closes the open chat and leaves the empty pane of the start screen.
Whatever is open over the chat goes first: a menu, a dialog, a window
such as Settings, the search bar, a thread, a reply or an edit in the
field. What you typed stays in the field for when you come back (#25). - In the media viewer a click or a tap on the dark space around the
picture closes it, as in Telegram. Only a narrow strip at each side,
where the arrow is, goes to the previous or next item, and closes too
when there is nothing more that way. A click on the picture itself and
a drag that ends off it do not close.
Fixed
- Linux: on a Wayland session with an NVIDIA graphics driver the desktop
app starts again; it died at once with a Wayland protocol error. It now
turns NVIDIA's explicit sync off for itself there (unless you set
__NV_DISABLE_EXPLICIT_SYNC yourself). - A device you sign in on later now gets your chat pins, drafts, pinned
messages, mutes and the other settings your devices share: your other
devices seal them again for it once it is there (and, if you verify
your devices, once you have verified it). Before, it got none of them
until each was changed again. - A chat whose messages this device cannot read (sent before it was
signed in) is in the chat list, dated by its newest message; it was
missing until a readable message came (#26). - Typing in the message field no longer lags or keeps the desktop app's
page at full CPU: each key redrew the whole chat with every message in
it, and a chat too short to scroll asked for older messages hundreds of
times a second for as long as it was open. - A room you could not get into now says why, over the message field and
in Room details: members only, banned, nickname taken, password needed,
room full, room gone or its server not answering, with Try again (and
Change my nickname when yours is taken). While you are not in a room the
field is disabled, with Join, and what you typed stays in it; nothing is
sent into a room that would refuse it. A room that is still joining
takes messages as before. Built on libtacky 1.0.1, which now tells the
app the refusal itself and no longer marks a room failed when it only
turned down a nickname change. - A chat that is both pinned and muted shows the pin and the crossed bell;
it showed the pin alone. - The window drags by the whole of the header bars: the chat header's
contact button and the list's account button move it when pressed and
dragged (a plain click still opens the contact's info or the account
menu), and on macOS the empty chat pane has a bar to drag by too; only
thin strips around them moved it (#27). - A file whose name is not plain English letters (Cyrillic, an emoji,
accented letters) sends again in the app; it failed with "Failed to
construct 'Headers'" (#23). - Selected text is clearly marked in both themes, in the bubbles, the
message field and everywhere else; in Night it was all but invisible on
incoming messages and in the field, in Day in the field (#24). - An account added from the account menu opens as soon as it is signed in,
whichever way in it took (password, the provider's page, a sign-up, an
organisation's sign-in); it stayed behind the account you were on (#22). - While messages are being selected, a click or tap anywhere on a message,
its picture, video, file, link or quoted reply included, selects it;
on a picture it opened the viewer instead, and a file, a video or a link
did their own thing. - In the web version the connection settings ask only for what a browser
can use: a WebSocket URL, found from the domain when left empty. The
host, port and STARTTLS or direct TLS choices, which a browser cannot
use, are gone from account settings and the sign-in screen, and saving
leaves any stored for the account (by the app) as they were. - On the Provider screen, with Another server picked but its name not
typed yet, the button says "Use this provider" (and waits for the name)
instead of "Use another.im"; when only a host was typed, a line asks for
the server's name, the part of your address after @.
The files for this version are no longer offered here; the newest release has the current builds.
